The Secret of the Kalahari Grill… Scientifically controlled draft in the Kalahari Grill allows the newspaper to burn at the proper rate to provide sufficient heat to render fat out of the meat above! The fat drips onto the crumpled, charred paper balls, thus feeding the “fire” and prolonging its duration. Newspaper, which is essentially wood-pulp, is basically very similar to charcoal or wood. Foods prepared on the Kalahari Grill have a true “Charcoal Broiled” flavor because essentially the same fuels are used. Lean meats, fish or fowl lacking sufficient natural fat can easily be broiled on the Kalahari Grill by basting with cooking oil. Or strips of fat or bacon may be placed on the grid to provide extra fuel and flavor! Kalahari Grill’s fast action sears meats quickly, preserving succulent juices and doesn’t allow your meats to dry out!
